About the club

On the outskirts of Zamora, beside the Valderrey hermitage, Club de Golf Valderrey brings together golf, practice facilities and a clubhouse with places to eat. The club was established to make the sport more accessible to Zamora, with an approach that treats golf as part of a broader leisure offering.

For golfers visiting this part of Castilla y León, its setting provides the geographical starting point: a natural environment outside the city, next to the hermitage. The restaurant and café welcome the public, so a visit need not be limited to those heading out to play.

Golf and practice facilities

The grounds cover 30 hectares. The course information includes Club de Golf Entrepinos, an 18-hole, par-69 layout designed by Manuel Piñero and opened in 1990.

Valderrey also has a golf academy and a practice area. These give learning and practice a place alongside time on the course, in keeping with the club’s aim of introducing the sport to Zamora. The academy has its own entry in the guide, as does the golf shop.

When considering what the club offers, it helps to separate the golf facilities from the clubhouse amenities. The academy and practice area serve the sporting side of a visit; the restaurant, café and other clubhouse spaces extend the reasons to spend time here beyond a round.

The clubhouse and other facilities

Inside the clubhouse are a restaurant, café, function rooms, shop and golf club storage. Both dining venues are open to the public, a useful detail if you are travelling with someone who does not play or simply want to visit for food or a drink.

There are sports courts too. Together, these facilities reflect the leisure focus behind Valderrey: golf remains central, but it is not the only activity represented at the club.

A setting outside Zamora

The Valderrey hermitage is the landmark beside the club, while Zamora is the city that anchors its location. The natural surroundings, practice facilities and public dining spaces give visitors several ways to approach a visit. Whether your interest is learning, practising or spending time at the clubhouse, these are the main elements of Valderrey’s offering.
